Secure Data Destruction

Any items we receive, which are catagorised as containing a component which can contain data, it is isolated so that any such component is removed, before the equipment is processed further. Components which can feasibly retain data are stored seperately (for example; SCSI, SATA, PATA, Flash, Magnetic) and are ready for further processing.

Faulty Hard Drives, CDs, DVDs and other magnestic media are physically shredded, Magnetic tapes are unwound and destroyed and solid state storage media is crushed.

Our data clensing procedure meets the US Department of Defence (DOD 5220.22-M ECE) by providing a 7 pass random binary wipe to every storage medium that is not physically destroyed.

  • Removal of all owner identification marks

  • We aim to minimise the time and cost for the recycling, remarketing and/or destruction of your IT equipment. We provide an end-to-end service which will reduce your capital expenditure and the burden placed on your staff.

We will ensure that everything possible is recycled and keep the cost of the disposal of waste to an absolute minimum. We are legally obliged to provide you with a waste transfer notice, documenting a breakdown of all the IT waste which is transferred from your posession to ours. We will issue you with a copy of this notice, along with a EWC code for each item.

There are 3 basic scenarios in providing recycling services for Telecoms and IT related goods:

Free recovery and recycling of equipment

A free recovery happens when there is enough second hand value in the items being recovered to cover the cost of time, labour and any other recycling requirements under the current WEEE regulations.

Part paid – Part charged recovery and recycling of equipment.

This occurs when there is some value in the telephones and or systems being recovered for recycling but not sufficient to cover the cost of time, labour and recycling under the WEEE regulations.

A charged recovery for recycling equipment

A charge would be applied when there is NO value in the items being recovered for recycling under the current WEE regulations. All items would be removed and destroyed accordingly.
